No cat is left behind!

I love a daring cat rescue story on any day of the week. Not all adopted cats get their heroic tale, but others, like Baby the cat, could probably tell with her purrs and meows about how she was rescued from raging dogs of a neighbor, chased into a rusty shed. I hate hearing about cats chased by dogs - like, control your hecking dogs, dog owners. No cat deserves to be chased by a potential predator like that. Cats deserve love, comfort, and a forever home. I'd say "change mind", but on this matter - you can't.

Look. I'm not saying that all dogs do that. My cat met plenty of dogs who came to visit us with their humans, who just wanted to be her friends. One Shih Tzu even brought her his favorite toy over and over again. It's not the dogs' fault that my cat is afraid of them, regardless. But you just can't deny that sometimes, sometimes, dogs pose a real danger to cats. And this is what I don't like seeing. But luckily for this one cat below, Baby, she was rescued. And after two whole years, this cat is thriving. I always love seeing a cat thriving in their forever home.

Can you believe that I found her in the garbage?

I'm not kidding. She was in my neighbours rust scrap shed as a tiny kitten, chased in by his dogs. My

My family, who had 3 cats already, decided we could not leave a defenseless kitten in the shed.

We brought her in, acclimatized her slowly, a vet friend was able to squeak her in for shots,

and a cat rescue we knew covered the cost as a favour since a cat they gave us had a

terminal i ess and they and we didn't know. They felt bad and said they owed us one.

It's been 2 years now. She is named Baby. She is my pretty princess. She thinks she rules the house.

Well, if that's not the description of all adopted domestic cats, I don't know what is. Our cats think they run the household, rule our homes as if they were their personal kingdoms, seeing themselves as the ultimate feline overlords of our mere human existence… and they're all correct. Once you adopt a cat, you effectively submit to their iron paw rule. I know this from personal experience - writing these very words with my cat perched between my lap and the keyboard, because she decided having this specific space as a throne is much more important than whatever it is that I'm doing. So, you know, standard cat-raising business.

And if that's not the most accurate cat meme you've ever seen, I don't know what is. Like many other cat pawrents, I get that on a very personal level. My beloved cat was literally found abandoned in a bush, rejected by her stray mama and the rest of the litter. But all “garbage cats” deserve their rags-to-riches happy ending, just as my cat got. And I'm happy to know Baby got her own fairytale journey as well.

I'm not sure if that typo is intentional or not, but turning the Cat Distribution System to the Cat Distribution System is a continuation of one of my favorite memes out there in the wild - the cat to car typo. Especially when it comes to cats who are found in car engines, garages, or under vehicles - just like this comment is referring to. The number of cats who are found in these car-related places is really high.
